My name is Ella Cummings, I am a current junior at CU Boulder studying art practices. I was introduced to art at a young age by family members who are talented artists themselves, putting me in an environment where creativity was encouraged. From then on, I have developed a strong passion for art, exploring various styles and mediums. I have always fostered a deep love for painting, and as time went on I began to explore digital art and design. A pivotal part of my journey has been the opportunity to work at a merchandise company called Tourbus for the last five or so years. I began painting the packaging and helping out wherever I could, and about 2 years into it I was offered a spot on the design team. Here, I was given the opportunity to create digital illustrations and design merchandise, as well as overall expanding my digital art skills. This experience opened up a new world of exploration and has helped me approach and style my work. When it comes to the meaning behind my art, I have no specific explanation. I enjoy creating things from realistic portraits, to completely abstract pieces, if there's one thing that's pretty consistent, that is color. Today, I continue to explore both traditional art and digital art, pushing the boundaries and embracing new challenges and opportunities to grow as an artist.
