About Artist
My name is Ella Cummings, I am an art practices student at CU Boulder exploring my ardent passion for art. I was introduced to art at a young age by my mom and grandfather who are both talented artists. Throughout middle and high school I took art classes and solidified my desire to pursue art in 12th grade when I was enrolled in AP studio art and my first digital art class. I am an artist with no specific style or medium that I like to stick to. I love exploring all kinds of art and believe that there's an infinite amount of possibilities in the art world. Previously I have done a lot of drawing and painting, and over the last few years have developed a love for digital art. Inspired by my mom's work with her close friends as grateful dead merchandise designers, I have been exposed to the idea of illustrating and expanding on an idea or story based on the existing meaning. I got the opportunity to design a T-shirt for my mom's business simply based on the song lyrics of Truckin’ by the Grateful Dead, which was then transformed into a digital illustration and later on became one of their best sellers. This opened my eyes to the overall purpose of art, to tell a story or portray something artistically that appeals to and educates viewers. I create realistic paintings, portraits, digital posters, and more. I am looking to combine my love for both studio and digital art and challenge myself one project at a time.
