Throughout this project, I explored different glitch techniques, digital manipulation, and AI as a creative tool. I depict a desert landscape strewn with skeletons doing various things. I wanted the environment to feel mysterious and isolated, therefore I filled the space with glitches and other distortions. Manipulating these images and videos adds an eerie layer, disrupting the scene as if the desert itself is glitching. AI plays a significant role in this creative process. By generating the original images with AI and distorting them, I aim to capture the beauty found in the unexpected. Glitch art is all about embracing errors and imperfections, and AI tends to generate such imperfections, where I then take what was generated and distort it even more. In terms of the scenery and theme of this project, I aimed for a mysterious fantasy desert, I wanted it to feel almost abandoned, but fill the space with lively and bright skeletons. Skeletons are something that is consistent in my artwork, for no particular reason, and I thought it would be cool to bring the skeletons to life. I incorporated around 6 infinite zoom clips, but I didn't want it to feel too still, so I incorporated some of the AI-generated videos. The images were inspired by the video I created, also depicting colorful skeletons and desert scenes. Overall, my work emerged from blending my intentions and the serendipity of AI and glitch art into one.
