While thinking about what I could make into a successful tik tok filter, I noticed that a popular and large part of tik tok is dancing trends. I thought it would be interesting to make a 3D design of some sort of dancing creature or object.. I intend to build this 3D creature with personality, and when paired with music, it will turn into a fun and interactive experience. I imagine an animated creature that pops onto the screen dancing to a popular or custom song. As I was looking through different tik tok filters to gain inspiration, I noticed that I am drawn to the filters that interact with the environment and appear not just on a face but within the environment around the user. I could use features in effect house to make it respond to the users actual movements, but i think it would be interesting if i insert the creature into the environment as if it's next to the dancers in the tik tok. When considering how I can make my idea more interactive and universally appealing, I could potentially add movements like a fist bump or facial expressions. Another way I could make it more interactive is simply having my character mimic a dance already made and universally known such as “the wave” or the cha cha slide. This idea is in the works and requires a lot of planning, but i'm looking forward to learning how to make my very own objects and animations in blender.
